I saw this neat little bottle at an antique store here in Kansas City and started digging into its history.
“Harmlessly and artificially flavored and colored.” Mmm.
The Danciger Bros. operated a brewery and distillery in downtown Kansas City in the early 1900’s. Their enterprise included Red Chief Distilling, Harvest King distilling and Royal Brewing – and probably a bunch of others. Before Prohibition they appear to have been doing a brisk mail-order whiskey business.
During Prohibition, they branched out into non-alcoholic beverages like this Non-Alcoholic Blackberry Cordial.
